Bistek tagalog (beef with soy sauce)

A typical filipino dish

Hello dear readers,

Bistek tagalog is one of my husband's favorite pinot dish! It is super easy to make and so tasty. All of the ingredients can be found in any supermarket.

Recipe for two persons:

Ingredients:

- 2 beef entrecôte;

- 1/2 cup soy sauce (I use low sodium);

- 1 medium sized onions;

- 1/2 a lemon's juice ;

- 1 tbsp butter.

Procedure:

  1. Rinse the beef entrecôtes with water and pat dry with kitchen paper.

  2. Cut the meat crosswise in 3 centimeter strips in width.

  3. Heat a frying pan and add the neutral oil. Cook the onions till they become transparent. Remove the onions from the pan and set aside.

  4. Melt the butter in the same pan with the heat on medium high and with the aid of two wooden spatulas sauté the meat pieces till they are no longer pink. Reduce the heat and add the lemon juice and the soy sauce.

  5. Simmer for two minutes, top the meat with the cooked onions. Mix one last time and serve while still warm with white rice.

Enjoy!
